Institute for Media Economics and Journalism (InMWJ)

The Institute for Media Economics and Journalism at Jade University of Applied Sciences supports interdisciplinary, applied research bringing together different stakeholders from science, education, and the media industry. Areas of research include, among others, media management, media and their role in different societies, freedom of the press, crisis communication, and science communication for children.
The institute co-sponsors and organizes scientific events, such as a conference on “Freedom and Journalism” of the German Communication Association (DGPUK) in 2016, or a workshop on “Risk and Crisis Communication in Disaster Preparation and Management” in 2017.
The institute has access to state of the art facilities and equipment for TV, audio, photography, print, and cross-media productions. It supports student projects and exhibitions related to the degree programs in “Media Economics and Journalism”, and “Management of Digital Media” at Jade University.
