RULES OF THE GAME

ROUNDS

The Competition this year is divided into rounds.

These will be:
  1. Group preliminary
  2. Quarter finals
  3. Semi finals
  4. Final

In the quarter- and semi- finals the groups member from the preliminarys are not going to have to compete against each other.

SPECIFICATON OF THE ROUNDS

Group Preliminary

In the preliminary phase the teams are divided into four groups of four teams each. In the groups the teams are going to compete against every other team, so that there will be six rounds in each group.

The Groups are going to be casted and the results will be announced, when the robots are introduced.

Out of each group, two teams reach the quarter finals. Those will be the teams which earned the most points in the preliminary rounds.

This means, that after the preliminary the eight best teams will have to compete in the quarter finals. Two teams will compete against each other in each round.

Quarter finals

In the quarter finals, the eight best teams from the preliminary are going to accomplish a task. Two teams compete against each other in each round. The four teams, which earn the most points are going to continue.

The teams and their adversary will be casted

Four teams are going to continue and are allowed to start in the semi-finals.

Semi finals

In the semi finals the four teams that won the quarter finals are going to get another task, they have to accomplish. Two teams compete against each other.

The teams and their adversary will be casted.

The two teams which earn the most points are going to compete in the final.

The Team that reaches the third highest points will reach the third place.

Final

In the final round the two winners from the semi finals are going to compete against each other and have to accomplish the final task.

The winner of this round is going to be the winner of the Design Challenge 2013!

The other Team from the final will reach the second place.
