+++ Cancelled! +++

Due to the increasing number of COVID-19 infections and the associated orders of the state government, the International Week 2020 must unfortunately be cancelled!

International Week 2020

Jade University of Applied Sciences invites its colleagues from partner universities to take part in the International Week from 27th to 30th April 2020.

We would like to welcome teaching staff as well as non-teaching staff to participate in a colourful programme and to present their home universities to our students, professors and staff.

The International Week will consolidate our fruitful cooperation and offer an interesting international and intercultural learning experience, for our guests as well as all members of Jade University.

Under this year's motto "sustainability", we would like to welcome teaching staff and non-teaching staff to offer guest lectures, to present their home universities and to take part in a symposium on sustainability science and research, as well as in job-shadowing sessions and exciting social events.

Our guests will have the possibility to meet colleagues from different departments, to get an insight into their working areas as well as their current international projects and to take part in lectures or to give lectures themselves.

Please contact Nele Hellmold in the International Office for detailed arrangements. In case of our Erasmus+ partners, we will be happy to sign a staff mobility agreement for teaching or for training.

We will meet for social events in order to refresh our contacts or to find new partners. Also, our guests will have the chance to get to know our campuses and their surroundings.

Following the great success of last year’s symposium on current issues in tourism development, we are pleased to announce that we will continue this event under a slightly different format. This year, we invite researchers, students and experts from all disciplines to contribute to a half day symposium on “Sustainability: Current and future perspectives.” The event takes place on 29 April 2020 at Jade UoAS in Wilhelmshaven, Germany.

This year, contributions can be made in the following format:

  • 5 min Poster Presentation (Award for best student poster)
  • 10 min Paper Presentation
  • Panel discussion

Please see the call for contributions and feel free to contact Svenja Renner (Jade UoAS) and Judith Römhild-Raviart (University of Brighton) for further information.

To facilitate the organisation of the International Week, we kindly ask our international guests to fill in the online application form until February 28, 2020.

It is not necessary for students and staff of Jade University to register for the International Week. All university members are cordially invited to participate in the events for the respective target groups.
