• Recognition

At Jade University, you can have qualifications you have already obtained at other universities recognised towards your current degree programme. To ensure that your academic achievements are properly recognised, we offer a procedure for the recognition of academic and examination achievements. This allows you to shorten the duration of your studies and helps to avoid duplication of modules.

    Procedure

      1. To be eligible for recognition, you must already be enrolled.
      2. Depending on the department, a consultation with the programme coordinator may be required. The department will be happy to provide further information on this.
      3. In the next step, you submit the application for recognition of academic and examination achievements.
      4. Please list in detail in the application which credits you wish to have recognised for which of the course or examination modules offered in your degree programme.
      5. The following supporting documents are required with the application:
        • Transcript of records (the academic record from the university where the credit was earned)
        • Module handbook (details of weekly contact hours and lecture content)
        • Certificates/transcripts, if applicable
      6. The application, together with the relevant supporting documents, must be submitted to the Enrolment and Examinations Office.
      7. The Examination Board usually decides on the application within four weeks. You will then receive a notification from the Examinations Office regarding which credits have been recognised and which have been rejected.

    • Timing of recognition

All examinations and academic achievements must be recognised before the relevant examination is taken for the first time. Once recognition has been granted, you are not permitted to sit the examination again. It is therefore not possible to improve your result. All students are therefore advised to initiate the recognition process immediately at the start of the semester.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the Enrolment and Examinations Office.

    • If you require academic advice, you will find the contact details for the relevant degree programmes or departments here.

If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Admissions and Examinations Office.

    • What is meant by the recognition of academic and examination credits?

The recognition of academic and examination credits means that credits you have already earned at other higher education institutions can be recognised towards your current degree programme at Jade University of Applied Sciences.
