The main objective of the opTiMuM project is to provide efficient design methods for miniaturised multiresonant components, taking into account the operational and manufacturing constraints, and due to their compact size and manufacturing limitations, the design of miniaturised multiresonant components, such as those used in energy harvesting or magnetic resonance microscopy, is particularly challenging.

Parameter optimisation of a miniaturised multi-resonant vibration energy harvester

The research group for modelling and simulation of mechatronic systems, headed by Prof. Bechtold, contributes its expertise in computer simulation and model order reduction. The computer simulations make it possible to predict the behaviour of complex microsystems and thus save development costs, as fewer expensive prototypes are required.
