How to write your next thesis with LaTeX
Shortly before the start of the summer semester, some students and lecturers accepted an international online challenge. The group shared a common interest in writing publications and theses with LaTeX. So, they met in zoom conferences every evening in the week of February 15-19. to exchange know-how and experiences.
The course provided basic skills for the creation of technical and scientific documents with the LaTeX typesetting programming language. The course was focused on the efficient and professional creation of scientific documents from Bachelor up to doctoral theses and more. After attending the course, the participants can create tables, insert images, create plots from data, and use the most common templates and packages to create articles, theses and books, even business cards and CVs as well.
All lectures came with theoretical introduction of the concepts, and practical hands-on experiencing with the popular typesetter. The webinar was done with a small number of participants (smaller than 20) to encourage interactions and cooperation.
The lectures were Gerardo Marx Chávez-Campos (Instituto Tecnológico de Morelia), Dr. Gabor Kertesz (Obuda University, Budapest) and Prof. Kai Mecke, supported by Iris Wilters (International Office) and Prof. Jürgen Legler and Prof. Matthias Haupt (latter from Jade Hochschule).
