Report an accident

Minor accidents are "accidents without visit to a doctor". An inability to work or a damage to/loss of a medical aid (visual aid, hearing aid, insulin pump etc. (acc. to § 31 SGB VII sec. 1 „Hilfsmittel“) is not expected. "Accidents without visit to a doctor" must be reported through the first-aid log form.

Such minor accident (e.g. minor cuts, etc.) may bring a severe disease (such as sepsis). In case of a relapse an Accident Insurance Physician, Durchgangsarzt) must be consulted and an accident report must be filed.
 

A work accident is any accident of an insured individual related to insured acitivities, leading to a work inability or a loss of a medical aid (visual aid, hearing aid, insulin pump, etc. (acc. to § 31 SGB VII sec. 1 „Hilfsmittel“)).

Reimbursement form in the event of damage to or loss of a medical aid.

A commuting accidents is any accident of an insured individual that occured on her/his way to the university and back home. Necessary detours are also covered by the insurance:

• Taking children to a daycare.
• Car pools.
• Detours due to road maintenance.
• Alternative safer route to the workplace and back home.

In the event of absence from work or non-attendance at courses in connection with the commuting accident, an accident report (see above) must also be submitted.
