Announcing two new scholarship schemes for incoming Study Abroad students in 2026 and 2027
La Trobe is offering both a scholarship and a bursary for Study Abroad students in 2026 and 2027:
1. Wominjeka Study Abroad Scholarship. This scholarship has two streams:
Stream 1: For students eager to explore the rich and diverse culture of Australia's First Nations people. Students must enrol in a minimum of one Indigenous studies unit/subject.
Stream 2: For students who face barriers to studying abroad due to personal, financial, or systemic adversity.
25% reduction in tuition fees:
4 subject semester package (60 La Trobe credits): AUD 11,200 - 25% = Total tuition AUD 8,400.
3 subject semester package (45 La Trobe credits): AUD 8,400 - 25% = Total tuition AUD 6,300.
*Tuition fees may vary from year to year. For more information: Wominjeka - Study Abroad Scholarship, Study with us, Scholarships, Other Scholarship opportunities, La Trobe University
2. Study Abroad Bursary (open to all students not receiving a Wominjeka scholarship): La Trobe recognises that the cost of studying in Australia can be a significant barrier for many students, and the rising expense of visas is an increasing concern To help ease this burden, we’ve introduced a new bursary: all Study Abroad students enrolling in a semester- or year-long program will receive a AUD 1,000 reduction in tuition fees. Students are not required to apply for this bursary.
AU$1,000 reduction in tuition fees:
4 subject semester package (60 La Trobe credits): AUD 11,200 - 1000 = Total tuition AUD 10,200.
3 subject semester package (45 La Trobe credits): AUD 8,400 - 1000 = Total tuition AUD 5,400.
At La Trobe, we invite more students to come with purpose—seizing the opportunity to study abroad, broaden their horizons, and help shape a more connected, compassionate world.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. We have Dary Milani (PVC, International), Bri Gunn (Assoc. Director, International) and Brett Smith (Senior Coordinator, Learning Abroad) at NAFSA , so if you happen to be there, shout them down!

International Staff Week about Final Theses from Different Perspectives
Novia University of Applied Sciences in Southwestern Finland is happy to announce its ninth International Staff Week that will take place 14-16 April 2026.
The topic is Final Theses from Different Perspectives, mainly in Bachelor's programmes but also in a few Master's programmes. At a University of Applied Sciences the education has a very practical orientation and is strongly linked to working life, also when it comes to final theses. Teachers from Health and Welfare, Business Administration, Bioeconomy, Construction Engineering and Seafaring will give examples of how they counsel and supervise students, how challenges faced by both students and teachers are met, which kind of projects and research theses can be part of, the process when theses are ordered by external clients and how teachers can ensure that students don't get stuck with their final theses. After each presentation there will be time for questions and discussion. The participants are also very welcome to share how the final theses process is carried out at their home institutions.
We will spend the first and third day in Turku, Finland's oldest town. During the second day we will visit Novia's green campus in Raseborg.
Participation in the International Staff Week is free of charge.
