Announcing two new scholarship schemes for incoming Study Abroad students in 2026 and 2027

La Trobe is offering both a scholarship and a bursary for Study Abroad students in 2026 and 2027:

1. Wominjeka Study Abroad Scholarship. This scholarship has two streams:

Stream 1: For students eager to explore the rich and diverse culture of Australia's First Nations people. Students must enrol in a minimum of one Indigenous studies unit/subject.
Stream 2: For students who face barriers to studying abroad due to personal, financial, or systemic adversity.

25% reduction in tuition fees:

4 subject semester package (60 La Trobe credits): AUD 11,200 - 25% = Total tuition AUD 8,400.
3 subject semester package (45 La Trobe credits): AUD 8,400 - 25% = Total tuition AUD 6,300.
*Tuition fees may vary from year to year.  For more information: Wominjeka - Study Abroad Scholarship, Study with us, Scholarships, Other Scholarship opportunities, La Trobe University

2. Study Abroad Bursary (open to all students not receiving a Wominjeka scholarship): La Trobe recognises that the cost of studying in Australia can be a significant barrier for many students, and the rising expense of visas is an increasing concern To help ease this burden, we’ve introduced a new bursary: all Study Abroad students enrolling in a semester- or year-long program will receive a AUD 1,000 reduction in tuition fees. Students are not required to apply for this bursary.

AU$1,000 reduction in tuition fees:

4 subject semester package (60 La Trobe credits): AUD 11,200 - 1000 = Total tuition AUD 10,200.
3 subject semester package (45 La Trobe credits): AUD 8,400 - 1000 = Total tuition AUD 5,400.

At La Trobe, we invite more students to come with purpose—seizing the opportunity to study abroad, broaden their horizons, and help shape a more connected, compassionate world.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. We have Dary Milani (PVC, International), Bri Gunn (Assoc. Director, International) and Brett Smith (Senior Coordinator, Learning Abroad) at NAFSA , so if you happen to be there, shout them down!

International Week - Global minds, united vision: Standing together in a world of change at Xamk

Xamk is happy to announce that we will be hosting our traditional International Week on 17.-21. November 2025 at our Kouvola campus! We warmly welcome all our partners to the event. The event is organized by the Department of Business, the Department of Culture, and Internationalisation Services.

This year’s theme is Global minds, united vision: Standing together in a world of change.

In a time when the world faces division, uncertainty, and rapid change, we gather to celebrate what brings us together — our cultures, our values, and our shared humanity. International Week is a testament to the power of cooperation, respect, and understanding across borders. Let our differences be the strength that unites us. Together, as global minds with a united vision, we create hope, build peace, and shape a better tomorrow.

During the week, the theme will be explored through:

  • an inspiring keynote speech
  • introducing opportunities for internationalisation for students
  • enhancing international competences of university staff and students
  • introducing Indian culture
  • enjoying traditional Finnish winter activities

The detailed programme will be announced later, but in addition to what is already mentioned, it will include lectures provided by guest lecturers and theme-related workshops. We will also have an international food tasting event, which has always been a huge success! Please note that Monday is reserved for arriving to Kouvola and we will have a welcome dinner in the evening.

The enrollment ends on September 30th, so there is plenty of time to arrange your visit. Please fill in the enrollment form here: https://link.webropol.com/s/international-week-global-minds-united-visions.
